The Herndon Directors Institute proudly announces Ken Frazier, Chairman & CEO of one of America’s leading corporations as keynote presenter for the Herndon Fellows Inaugural Session on February 10, 2021. The Herndon Directors Institute prepares corporate-ready minority and women leaders for participation on a broad range of governing boards.
As Chairman & CEO of Merck & Company, Ken Frazier is one of only four African American CEO’s who leads a Fortune 500 corporation. He is a renowned industry executive highly regarded for his leadership on strategy and growth initiatives made possible through inclusion. Frazier is a graduate of Penn State University and Harvard Law School having served on the boards of several corporations, including Exxon Mobil. He is formerly General Counsel of Merck and is recognized across the industry for his leadership vision. He enjoys an extensive track record spanning more than two decades in executive leadership.
Frazier’s presentation to Herndon Fellows will focus on the importance of “servant leadership” as a compass to guide newly appointed directors on the boards of corporate governance.

The Herndon Directors Institute (HDI) was borne out of the need for institutional change that would broaden the participation of minorities and women as active members of boards of directors in both commercial and non-profit settings. HDI is a historic initiative that seeks to generate a cadre of diverse, corporate-ready thought leaders to engage their peers through meaningful contributions that will change the landscape of corporate governance. The Herndon Director’s Institute is a program of The Herndon Foundation, in partnership with America’s leading corporations and organizations proactively aligned to expand minority and women board member participation. Full tuition is waived for participants accepted for admission in the Herndon Directors Institute.
