Law Firm Pledges Support to Canadian Economic Recovery

May 12 19:36 2021

A legal firm has declared it is ready to play its part in Canada’s economic recovery as it helps key workers and professionals who need an immigration lawyer to secure their residency in the country.

Immigration lawyers Abramovich & Tchern have welcomed the new ruling from Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship the Honorable Marco E.L. Mendicino, who has announced that new pathways to permanent residency would be created for temporary workers in essential roles, international students and French speakers.

The senior Government figure announced the measures in a bid to help fuel Canada’s economic recovery post COVID.

A spokesman from Abramovich & Tchern said: “The immigration process in Canada can be complicated, confusing and overwhelming. This is an opportunity for much-needed workers here in Canada to be able to stay in the country and help us as we get the country back on its feet.

“We want to help anyone who would like to take advantage of these new measures and make Canada their home to fight through the red tape and make it happen.

“The criteria for applicants is as follows. They must already hold temporary residency or be eligible to renew it and they must already be in Canada when they are making their application. They must be authorized to work here and be currently working here. They must be proficient in one of Canada’s official languages. And finally, they must meet the requirements under the particular stream of entry they will be making their application,” he added.

The application process will start on May 6 and finishes on November 5 this year, or until the program has reached its cap of applications.

The caps are as follows:

  • 20,000 healthcare workers
  • 30,000 in other essential fields
  • 40,000 international students who graduated from Canadian colleges and universities.

“If people want to take advantage of this new ruling, then they need to move fast. There are a limited number of spaces available and a short period in which to make the application. We already know the process and we can get people’s applications ready to submit the moment the window opens in a couple of weeks.

“If any of these workers are serious about living in Canada in the long term legally, then they must take advantage of this opportunity as soon as possible,” he added.

Anyone looking to apply under these new rules can contact Abramovich & Tchern for a consultation to see whether they case would be eligible for an application. Lawyers at the firm speak English, Russian, Spanish and Cantonese, and they work with professional interpreters for people who have other languages as their first language.
