Manchester, NH – May 8, 2025 – The New Hampshire Black Women Health Project (NHBWHP) is proud to present an exclusive film screening and community conversation featuring acclaimed activist, writer, and filmmaker Kevin Powell, co-director of the powerful new documentary When We Free the World. Powell will be joined by co-producer and co-writer Evangeline Lawson, a creative force in documentary storytelling focused on equity, gender, and community.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the YWCA New Hampshire (72 Concord St., Manchester, NH), this evening’s event will host a feature-length indie documentary that explores the complexities of manhood in America. The documentary will present the perspectives of Black men aged from their teens to their 90s. Manhood resonates in communities across the United States.
Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., and the screening will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This will be followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to meet the filmmakers.
This compelling documentary event is more than just a screening; it’s a call to action. Powell, known for his work on race, gender, democracy, and social justice, will engage the audience in a conversation that challenges stereotypes and promotes healing and understanding.
