Bee Cave, United States – October 26, 2026 – CortixIQ Global Intelligence, an independent software and technology research firm, has released its Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Platforms Software Intelligence Matrix™ (SIM™), Q4 2026, with separate assessments for Mid-Market and Enterprise organizations.
The two-market approach challenges the conventional practice of evaluating GRC platforms through a single, blended market view.
While both segments may purchase technology from the same GRC category, their requirements can differ substantially across implementation resources, administrative complexity, integrations, governance structures, scalability and time-to-value.
“A Mid-Market organization and a global enterprise may both be purchasing a GRC platform, but they are not necessarily buying against the same requirements,” said Abhijith Krishnan, Chief Research Analyst at CortixIQ Global Intelligence. “Implementation resources, governance complexity and tolerance for administrative overhead can be fundamentally different. GRC platforms need to be evaluated in the context of the market they are designed to serve.”
Mid-Market GRC Software Intelligence Matrix™ 2026
The CortixIQ GRC Platforms Software Intelligence Matrix™ – Mid-Market Organizations Focused, Q4 2026 evaluates platforms for organizations seeking meaningful GRC capability without unnecessary enterprise-level complexity.
Leaders
Mitratech, LogicGate, Onspring, Vanta, Hyperproof, Riskonnect and Workiva were positioned as Leaders, demonstrating the strongest relative combinations of Product Strength and Usability within the Mid-Market assessment.
Focused Players
NAVEX, Resolver, a Kroll business, LogicManager, Ideagen and Secureframe were positioned as Focused Players, reflecting relevant GRC capabilities and comparatively strong usability within more concentrated product profiles.
Strategic Innovators
Drata, OneTrust, Diligent, Anecdotes, SAI360 and Origami Risk were positioned as Strategic Innovators, reflecting notable Product Strength or innovation with different usability or implementation characteristics.
Emerging Solutions
EnableGRC and AdmiralOne were positioned as Emerging Solutions, representing developing or more specialized approaches within the GRC market.
Enterprise GRC Software Intelligence Matrix™ 2026
The Enterprise Organizations Focused Matrix applies a different evaluation context, reflecting the requirements of organizations operating large, interconnected GRC environments across multiple entities, business units, technology systems and regulatory frameworks.
LogicGate, Diligent, Mitratech, Optro, Vanta, Hyperproof, Workiva and Onspring were positioned as Leaders in the Enterprise assessment.
Their positioning reflects strong relative performance across Product Strength and Usability for enterprise requirements such as deeper integration architecture, scalable workflow orchestration, complex controls management and distributed governance.
NAVEX, Resolver, a Kroll business, LogicManager and Ideagen were positioned as Focused Players.
Archer, ServiceNow, OneTrust, IBM, Riskonnect, SAI360 and Origami Risk were positioned as Strategic Innovators, demonstrating significant Product Strength while presenting different usability or implementation characteristics from the Leaders.
No assessed provider was positioned within the Emerging Solutions quadrant of the Enterprise Matrix.
The Same Vendor Can Perform Differently by Market
The two Matrices demonstrate why CortixIQ does not treat GRC as a single buyer environment.
Mitratech, LogicGate, Onspring, Vanta, Hyperproof and Workiva are Leaders in both assessments.
However, several vendors change position when evaluated through a different buyer lens.
Diligent moves from Strategic Innovator in Mid-Market to Leader in Enterprise, while Riskonnect moves from Leader in Mid-Market to Strategic Innovator in Enterprise.
NAVEX, Resolver, LogicManager and Ideagen remain Focused Players across both assessments.
Some vendors are also specific to one market assessment. Drata, Anecdotes, EnableGRC, AdmiralOne and Secureframe appear in the Mid-Market Matrix, while Optro, Archer, ServiceNow and IBM appear in the Enterprise Matrix.
These differences reinforce a central principle of the CortixIQ methodology: vendor positioning should be interpreted relative to the requirements of the buyer segment rather than treated as a universal market ranking.
“The strongest Enterprise GRC platform is not automatically the strongest Mid-Market platform, and the reverse is equally true,” Krishnan added. “A platform can have extraordinary functional depth but demand resources more appropriate for a multinational organization than a lean Mid-Market compliance team. Product-market fit has to be assessed in context.”
Product Strength Alone Does Not Determine GRC Fit
Both Software Intelligence Matrices evaluate vendors across Product Strength and Usability.
Product Strength considers the breadth, depth and maturity of capabilities including workflows, integrations, automation, AI, security, scalability and market-specific functionality.
Usability considers implementation effort, administration, ease of use, user experience, configuration flexibility and time-to-value.
This distinction is particularly important in GRC because additional functionality does not necessarily create additional value if organizations struggle to implement or operationalize it.
AI Is Becoming Part of Core GRC Platforms
Artificial intelligence is increasingly being incorporated into GRC workflows across regulatory interpretation, evidence management, control mapping, policy management, risk analysis and reporting.
CortixIQ evaluates AI within the broader platform rather than treating the presence of a generative AI assistant as evidence of product maturity on its own.
“Simply having AI is not enough to differentiate a GRC platform,” said Krishnan. “The question is whether it improves the actual work of risk and compliance teams by reducing manual effort, strengthening context and supporting more informed and defensible decisions.”
Why CortixIQ Separated the GRC Market
A single GRC assessment can place highly complex global enterprise systems alongside streamlined Mid-Market platforms without adequately reflecting the organizations each product is designed to serve.
CortixIQ’s two-Matrix approach is intended to make differences in product depth, usability, implementation complexity, scalability and organizational fit more visible.
Instead of asking only:
“Which GRC platform has the most functionality?”
CortixIQ asks:
“Which GRC platforms are best aligned with the requirements and operating realities of organizations like ours?”
