Newly Upgraded Hot‑Rolled Channel Steel Products Launched – Empowering Modern Construction with Superior Quality

July 08 10:33 2026

We are pleased to announce the official launch of our upgraded hot‑rolled channel steel series. Manufactured and quality‑controlled in strict accordance with the national standard GB/T 706‑2026 Hot‑rolled Sections, this product line covers both sloping‑flange and parallel‑flange channel steel types, fully meeting the demand for high‑quality sections in building structures, mechanical equipment, vehicle manufacturing, and various steel structure projects.

1. Product Overview: The Structural Classic with a U‑Shaped Section

Channel steel is a long strip of steel with a U‑shaped cross‑section. Its unique profile provides excellent bending strength, structural stability, and balanced stress distribution, making it a key component in modern industrial load‑bearing systems. Our hot‑rolled channel steel is formed from high‑quality carbon structural steel or low‑alloy steel billets through an advanced hot‑rolling process. It is available in the full range of ordinary channel sizes from #5 to #40, and is widely used in factory frames, bridge joints, machine bases, curtain wall projects, and many other applications.

2. Core Advantages: Upgraded Quality Aligned with the New National Standard

This new series strictly follows the upcoming GB/T 706‑2026 Hot‑rolled Sections standard, which takes effect on 1 December 2026. All aspects – dimensional accuracy, shape tolerances, weight deviations, technical requirements, and test methods – comply with the latest specifications. Key features include:

  • Full size range and flexible selection. The product covers mainstream models from #5, #6.3, #8, #10, #12, #14, #16, #18 to #40. For example, #5 channel steel has dimensions of 50×37×4.5 mm with a theoretical weight of 5.438 kg/m; #10 channel steel measures 100×48×5.3 mm with a theoretical weight of 10.007 kg/m. Custom lengths from 6 m to 19 m are available upon request.

  • Multiple material grades with excellent performance. We offer Q235B, Q355B, and other grades. Q235B provides good formability and weldability, with a yield strength ≥235 MPa, making it cost‑effective for general structures. Q355B low‑alloy high‑strength steel, with a yield strength ≥355 MPa (about 50% higher than Q235), is especially suitable for low‑temperature environments or dynamic loading conditions.

  • Advanced processing and reliable quality. The products are produced via a mature continuous hot‑rolling process, including billet heating, rough rolling, finishing rolling, sawing, cooling, straightening, and packaging. Our state‑of‑the‑art straightening equipment ensures excellent straightness and effectively controls distortions such as twisting and waving. Every batch undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection, mechanical property testing, and surface quality checks to guarantee zero‑defect delivery.

3. Application Scenarios: Empowering Engineering across Multiple Fields

With superior performance, our hot‑rolled channel steel is widely used in:

  • Building structures: As key load‑bearing members in building frames, curtain wall supports, steel‑structured workshops, and high‑rise buildings, often combined with I‑beams and H‑beams to form robust steel frameworks.

  • Mechanical equipment: For manufacturing equipment supports, frames, fixing devices, and industrial platforms, ensuring operational stability and safety.

  • Vehicle manufacturing: Applied in body frames and chassis reinforcements to enhance overall rigidity and load capacity.

  • Bridges and infrastructure: Serving bridge joints, power transmission towers, hoisting and transport machinery, and other large‑scale infrastructure projects.

4. Alignment with Industry Standards

It is worth noting that the complementary industry standard YB/T 6443‑2026 Hot‑rolled Channel Steel for Steel Structure Columns was issued on 16 April 2026 and will take effect on 1 November 2026. This standard specifically specifies the dimensions, manufacturing processes, technical requirements, and test methods for hot‑rolled channel steel used in steel structural columns. We have already completed the relevant technical upgrades and process adjustments to ensure full compliance with both the new national standard and this industry standard.

5. Conclusion

As a professional manufacturer with years of experience in the steel industry, we consistently adhere to quality as our foundation and customer needs as our guide, continuously driving product upgrades and technological innovation. This upgraded hot‑rolled channel steel series not only reflects our rapid response to the evolving national standards but also demonstrates our commitment to supporting modern engineering construction. Looking ahead, we will continue to uphold the principles of “quality first, service foremost” and provide our customers with even better products and more comprehensive services.
