Tieke Expressway Fangzheng to Yanshou-Shangzhi Border Section Officially Opens to Traffic

August 11 03:24 2026

The Tieke Expressway section from Fangzheng to the Yanshou-Shangzhi border, for which China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Electric Engineering Company undertook the traffic safety and electromechanical engineering works as well as the construction of the Liutuan Toll Station, has been officially opened to traffic. This section is a key segment of the G1015 Tieke Expressway within Heilongjiang Province. The route connects multiple cities including Tieli, Fangzheng, Yanshou, Shangzhi, and Wuchang, serving as a major inter-provincial expressway corridor linking Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Inner Mongolia.

It is reported that the Tieke Expressway is a key transportation project bridging the “Belt and Road Initiative” Northeast Asia gateway and the Harbin-Changchun urban agglomeration. The completion and opening of the Fangzheng to Yanshou-Shangzhi border section has significantly shortened travel times between cities and counties along the route within Heilongjiang Province, effectively diverted traffic from the G229 national and provincial highway, eliminated a provincial “dead-end” road, strengthened the interconnection transport corridor to the Suifenhe Port and the Mongolia-Russia border, and optimized the regional expressway network layout. This holds significant strategic and livelihood importance for promoting the coordinated development of the Harbin-Changchun urban agglomeration, reducing grain outward transport logistics costs, safeguarding national food security, activating forestry, agriculture, and cultural tourism industries along the route, and supporting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China.

As the contractor for the project’s traffic safety facilities, electromechanical systems, and the Liutuan Toll Station works, the project team, grounded in the construction characteristics of Northeast China’s cold regions, took on the construction responsibility throughout the entire process and made every effort to advance the implementation of traffic safety facilities, electromechanical systems, and toll station supporting facilities along the entire line.

The construction of this section of the Tieke Expressway faced multiple challenges, including a tight schedule, constrained working space, numerous elevated construction procedures, and prolonged severe winter conditions. The project team adhered to the principles of “safety first, prevention-oriented, and precise construction,” refining full-process construction procedure controls. For the toll station canopy construction, a staggered parallel work model was adopted to expedite the schedule. In response to the local cold climate, the team conducted on-site assessments and optimized the design, adjusting the traditional anti-glare panels to a straight-line configuration, which not only ensured road traffic safety and improved project quality but also facilitated future cost reduction and efficiency improvement for road operation and maintenance. Throughout the construction process, strict safety and quality standards were enforced, with step-by-step procedure self-inspections and hazard screenings carried out to ensure efficient and steady progress on all construction tasks. All construction goals were successfully completed on schedule. Following the smooth commissioning of the Fangzheng to Yanshou-Shangzhi border section of the Tieke Expressway, regional network traffic efficiency has significantly improved, and the flow of agricultural, tourism, and industrial factors along the route has become more fluid.

Looking ahead, China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Electric Engineering Company will continue to leverage its professional advantages in electromechanical and traffic safety works, summarize its mature experience in cold-region expressway construction, deepen its presence in the Northeast China transportation infrastructure market, and continue to contribute to the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China through high-quality engineering projects that steadily improve the regional transportation network.
