Carlos Ruben Lauthier Wendt Publishes “Who Do You Think You Are” at 75, a Spiritual Philosophy Decades in the Making

Carlos Ruben Lauthier Wendt, born in Puerto Varas, Chile, in 1950, has published his defining work at the age of 75. Who Do You Think You Are: A Spiritual Philosophy is a 446-page book that is part memoir, part philosophy, and part practical guide. It is built on a single question: beneath the name you were given, the roles you were assigned, and the beliefs you absorbed without choosing them, who are you actually?

Lauthier Wendt did not arrive at this question through books alone. He survived childhood abandonment in Chile, years inside the Chilean Naval Academy, a physical collapse at nineteen that forced his discharge, and a life rebuilt from nothing in Australia after emigrating in June 1970. At eighteen he won a national gold medal in rowing and represented his country at the South American Championships. By nineteen, his body had given out under the weight of institutional pressure. Every idea in this book has been tested against a real existence.

The book’s central framework is the Trinity of Self: intellectual consciousness (the analyzing mind), the Innate (the body’s own healing intelligence), and higher consciousness (intuition and the soul). Across nine chapters, the author draws on quantum physics, ancient wisdom, personal testimony, and practical exercises to show readers how to stop living from borrowed beliefs and begin recovering their own. Topics include the observer effect and consciousness, the pineal gland, DNA as an energetic field, synchronicity, dietary practices that support or obstruct spiritual perception, and the slow work of unifying a fragmented self.

The writing is direct. The author calls his tone a blade of truth: written not to comfort, but to provoke genuine remembrance. It will speak most clearly to readers who sense that the life they are living does not match the one they were meant to live, and to anyone working at the intersection of consciousness, healing, and identity.

The book includes practical integration exercises throughout and is suited to individual reading, group study, and therapeutic or workshop settings. It bridges Eastern and Western philosophy, personal narrative and metaphysical inquiry, without belonging exclusively to any single tradition.
