The NYC-based Entertainment Football Association (ENTFLA) announced today that MSG Networks will be the television home for the team’s 2025 season, beginning with the home opener and the return of the New York Dragons at Nassau Coliseum, Saturday, June 14 at 6 pm ET.
ENTFLA COO William Rolack stated “It is with great pride that we are bringing back a beloved team in the New York Dragons. The Entertainment Football Association (ENTFLA) was intentionally founded on the concept of THE LOCAL CLUSTER-4 teams in short distance of each other, to ensure long-standing, local rivalries among NY, NJ and CT.” He notes “I am excited for the fans who for the price of a movie ticket can experience 5 to 6 hours of tailgating, a feature act performance, fast and touchdown- driven pro football, along with a great festival, college gameday feel. We truly believe in bringing everybody to the game, whether live, via MSG Networks or other media, embodying our league mantra of ‘Football4All’.”
“We’re excited to serve as the home of the Entertainment Football Association (ENTFLA) for its inaugural season,” said Armando Polanco, Vice President of Content Distribution at MSG Networks. “Adding the energy of live arena football to our diverse lineup of professional team coverage is a tremendous win for our dedicated fans.”
MSG Networks, a pioneer in sports media, owns and operates two award-winning regional sports and entertainment networks (MSG and MSG Sportsnet) and MSG+, a direct-to-consumer and authenticated streaming offering (included in the Gotham Sports App), that serve the nation’s number one media market, the New York DMA, as well as other portions of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2014 and played from 1985 to 2000, primarily for the Buffalo Bills. Reed served as the main receiving target for fellow Hall of Famer and Quarterback Jim Kelly, accomplishing a one-of-a kind feat of reaching 4 consecutive Super Bowls- an act that has not been achieved since.
“I’m thrilled to be Commissioner of the Entertainment Football Association (ENTFLA) in its inaugural season,” said Reed, “It’s exciting to be involved with Arena Football, and I am looking forward as Commissioner of this League, to bringing all of the excitement of this great game to football fans in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.” He noted “with Mets Hall of Famer Darryl Strawberry, Jets Legend Bruce Harper, the 35th Anniversary of House Party and the NY Dragons return, Nassau Coliseum will be the place to be June 14th.”
On the field, the team is led by Coach Gerald Filardi (New York Dragons by Orlin and Cohen), Coach AJ Roque (Garden State Heroes), Coach Nick Coppola (New Jersey Ciphers) and Coach Tracey Curtis (Danbury Diesel), the first female to serve as head coach of a men’s professional football team.
The ENTFLA has an extraordinary roster of strategic partners, who can’t wait for the season to start. Lebenthal Financial Services Inc. President Michael Hartzman notes that “I remember taking my kids to NY Dragons games, and the excitement of the sport. Now, I am so thrilled to see the return of the Dragons to Nassau Coliseum.” The League is also sponsored by Orlin and Cohen, along with New York Life Nassau.
